RANGPUR, Dec 12, 2025 (BSS) - Members of Rapid Action Battalion (RAB)-13 arrested an alleged drug peddler with 770 pieces of Yaba tablets from Maheshpur village under Palashbari police station in Gaibandha district on Thursday afternoon.

The arrestee was identified as Md Mahafuzar Rahman, 38, son of late Afzal Hossain of Milanpur village under Pirganj police station in Rangpur district, said a press release.

Acting on a tip-off, a team of RAB-13's Crime Prevention Company-3 from Gaibandha Camp conducted a raid in Maheshpur at around 4:16 pm, seized the contraband tablets, and detained the suspect.

Later, RAB handed over the arrested person along with the seized Yaba tablets to Palashbari police station after filing a case in this connection, the release added.
