Germany keen to support KCC's projects

KHULNA, Jan 26, 2025 (BSS) - A delegation of the German Embassy in Bangladesh, German Development Bank (KFW) and German Development Cooperation (GIZ) held a meeting with officials of Khulna City Corporation (KCC) at the latter's conference hall here today.

Members of the delegation expressed their interest to support for implementation of people-importance projects like the previous times.

According to the KCC sources, there was Germany's cooperation towards facing the crises caused by the adverse impact of climate change in the city in the past. In the future also, the pace of the cooperation to rehabilitate the rootless people victimized by climate change will continue.

Besides, the German support will be in the need-based projects in future.

On behalf of the delegation, Desk Officer for the Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development Malin Ribsamen, Deputy Head of Development Cooperation of German Embassy Alrish Kepman, Cluster Coordinator Dr Dana Dila Fontaine and Martina Barcard and Principal Adviser Dr Stifan Alfred were present.

KCC Chief Executive Officer Lasker Tajul Islam, Secretary Sharif Ashif Rahman, Chief Revenue Officer Rahima Akter Bushra, Chief Waste Management Officer Engineer Abdul Aziz and Chief Planning Officer Abire Ullah Jabbar were present on behalf of the KCC.

Later, the delegation visited some of the projects, including Rupsha Ghat and number seven ghat, implemented with German financial support to see for present condition.
