Information fair begins in Cumilla

CUMILLA, Jan 27, 2025 (BSS) - A two-day information fair was inaugurated in the district with the slogan of "Tothyo Shakti, Janbo, Janabo, Durniti Rukhbo" (Information Power, I will know, I will inform, I will Prevent Corruption).

Deputy Commissioner Md. Amirul Kaiser inaugurated the fair at the city Town Hall ground this morning as the chief guest with Professor Nikhil Chandra Roy, President of the Conscious Citizens' Committee (Sonak) Cumilla in the chair.

Superintendent of Police Mohammad Ahmed Khan was present at the function as special guest. Officials of various government and private organizations, including Rokeya Begum Shefali, convener of the information fair celebration committee, were present.

About 32 stalls of government and private organizations were set up on the ground of fair organized by the Cumilla district administration and Sonak CUMILLA. 

After the inauguration of the fair, the guests visited various stalls. 

In addition, anti-corruption cartoon exhibition, public signature, anti-corruption quiz competition, anti-corruption debate, dialogue on youth's ideas for building a discrimination-free and corruption-free Bangladesh and cultural programs were organised at the fair. 


The chief guest, in his speech, said "We want to reach all government services to the doorsteps of the people. We want to inform the people about the services provided by all institutions. We want to provide services easily."

Through the fair, the people will be able to know what services government and private institutions are providing, he said.
