RANGPUR, Jan 28, 2025 (BSS) - Winter clothes and school bags were distributed among the underprivileged people in Pirganj upazila of Rangpur in memory of martyr Abu Sayeed today.
 
The winter clothes and school bags were distributed among unprivileged people and students at a function organized by the research organisation ‘Power and Participation Research Center (PPRC)’ at the Babanpur Kamil Madrasa ground in the upazila.
 
PPRC Executive Chairman and former advisor to the caretaker government Dr Hossain Zillur Rahman participated in the function virtually. He also addressed the function as the chief guest.
 
Chaired by Shaheed Abu Sayeed's father Mokbul Hossain, BRAC's Rangpur District Coordinator AKM Jahidul Islam, PPRC's Manager of Communication Jayant Pal and BRAC Advocacy Programme's Md Musa Mia attended the function as special guests.
 
Dr Hossain Zillur Rahman said that this programme has been undertaken with the aim of helping the cold-stricken people by distributing blankets and sheets and making educational materials available to children by providing school bags.
 
He said, "PPRC believes that this initiative will play an important role in preserving the memory of the martyr Abu Sayeed as well as spreading the message of social harmony and humanity."
 
On the occasion, 400 sheets and 150 blankets were distributed among the cold-stricken people and school bags were provided to 120 students.
