Man held with firearm in Thakurgaon

THAKURGAON, Feb 10, 2025 (BSS) - Police in a drive arrested a man with a foreign-made pistol from the Gobindanagar area under Sadar upazila here in the early hours of today.

The arrested was Sohel Rana, 34, an agent banking officer of Dutch Bangla Bank and son of late Khorshed Ali, a resident of Thakurgaon Road area of the district town.

On a tip-off, a team of police conducted a drive in the aforesaid area around 3:30am, arrested Sohel and recovered the firearm after searching his room, said Sahirur Rahman, officer-in-Charge of Sadar police station.

A case was filed with Sadar Police Station in this connection.
