Three held with 23.5-kg hemp in Gaibandha

RANGPUR, March 10, 2025 (BSS) - Rapid Action Battalion (RAB)-13 arrested three drug peddlers from a residential hotel at Sadar upazila in Gaibandha district and seized 23.5 kilograms of hemp from their possession on Sunday night.

The arrestees are Md Hanif, 30, resident of Khonchabari village in Sadar upazila of Lalmonirhat district and Chamiul Haque, 32, and Md Limon Islam, 20, residents of Paschim Fulmoti village in Phulbari upazila of Kurigram district.

On information, an operational team of the Crime Prevention Company (CPC)-3 under the RAB-13 from its Gaibandha Camp conducted a raid at room no 17 of the residential hotel, seized the hemp and arrested them at 11:25 pm, a press release said today.

It added that the elite force handed over the arrested drug peddlers to Gaibandha Sadar Police Station for further legal action.
