Over 4.93 lakh children to be fed vitamin 'A' capsules in Tangail

TANGAIL, March 10, 2025 (BSS) - A total of 4,93,700 children will be fed 
Vitamin A capsules under the forthcoming National Vitamin 'A' Plus Campaign-
2025 scheduled to be held on March 15.

To mark the campaign, newly-appointed District Civil Surgeon Dr Farazi M 
Mahbubul Alam formally disclosed this at an orientation meeting with the 
newsmen at the Civil Surgeon Office conference room here this morning.

According to the meeting, the District Public Health Department will 
implement the programme at 3,010 centers in the district from 8am to 4pm. 

As many as 56,149 children aged from six to 11 months will be fed blue 
coloured capsules while 4,37,551 children aged from 12 to 59 months will be 
fed red coloured capsules. 

A total of 7,237 health assistants and volunteers will take part in the 
programme.

The meeting was also addressed, among others, by Deputy Director of District 
Family Planning Division Abdul Latif Molla, Deputy Civil Surgeon of the 
district Dr Azizul Huq, President of Tangail Press Club Advocate Jafar Ahmed 
and Superintendent of District EPI in Civil Surgeon Office Abdul Hamid Miah.
