RANGPUR, Mar 17, 2025 (BSS) – A mobile court in two separate drives fined two fuel filling stations with Taka 80,000/- for measuring less in their Octane, Petrol and Diesel Dispensing Units in Sadar upazila of Kurigram district today.
 
“The Rangpur divisional office of Bangladesh Standards and Testing Institution (BSTI) and Kurigram Sadar upazila administration conducted the drives,” a press release issued by Deputy Director (Physical) and divisional BSTI office chief Mobin-Ul-Islam said here tonight.
 
Kurigram Sadar Upazila Nirbahi Officer (UNO) and Executive Magistrate Md. Ariful Islam led the mobile court.
 
The mobile court fined Messer’s Panir and Sons Filling Station with Taka 50,000 and Messer’s Friends Filling Station with Taka 30,000 for measuring less in their Diesel, Octane and Petrol Dispensing Units.
 
The BSTI prosecutors were Field Officer (Certification Marks) Khondker Md Zaminur Rahman and Inspector (Metrology) Md. Ahsan Habib.
 
“The Rangpur divisional BSTI office will continue such drives in the public interest,” the release added.
