Arms and ammunition seized in Khulna

KHULNA, April 4, 2025 (BSS) - Joint forces recovered a substantial cache of arms, ammunition and local weapons from the Shamsur Rahman Road area here in the early hours of today.

The drive was conducted as a part of the nationwide "Devil Hunt" operation across the country.

The joint forces, comprising army personnel and police, raided the residences of listed criminal Babu, also known as grenade Babu, and his accomplice Sohag.

During the four-hour operation, law enforcement seized a pistol, four rounds of ammunition with a magazine, a machete, five mobile phones, an army uniform, two motorcycles, and Tk 12, 12,000 in cash from Babu's residence. Additionally, from Sohag's location, they confiscated Tk 13,92,553 and Indian Rupees 4,240, along with a wine bottle.

Officer-in-Charge of Khulna Kotwali Police Station, Howlader Sanwar Hussain Masum, confirmed the details of the operation.

Mintu Chowdhury and Rabbi Chowdhury, father and younger brother of grenade Babu, were detained for further questioning.
