Graffiti -Calligraphy painting workshop begins in Rajshahi

RAJSHAHI, April 9, 2025 (BSS) - A five-day graffiti and calligraphy painting workshop commenced here on Tuesday, highlighting the significance and importance of the anti-discrimination students' movement.

The workshop, organized by the Fine Arts Division, Bangladesh Shilpakala Academy (BSA) was held on the Rajshahi academy premises.

BSA Director Mostofa Zaman, accompanied by Deputy Director Prodyat Kumar Das and Instructor Zannatul Ferdous Keya inaugurate the workshop.

Prominent artists, including former Vice-chancellor of the International University of Scholars Prof Abdus Sattar, Artist Ibrahim Mondal and artists from the Fine Arts Faculty at Rajshahi University Monika Amelia, Ariful Islam and Raihan Ahmed, are participating in the workshop.  

Talking to BSS here today Mostofa Zaman said they will organize such type of workshops in Khulna, Chattogram and Mymensingh as well.

"We have already held a five-day painting workshop in Dhaka for the first time from March 12 to 16 successfully," he added. 

In each of the workshops, ten artists will paint two graffiti and calligraphy each. More than 100 fine arts will be collected from the five districts and an exhibition will be held in Dhaka with the collected arts. 

As a tribute to the movement, the art works will be preserved for the future generation, Mostofa added.
