3 held for attacking students' movement in Rajshahi

RAJSHAHI, April 10, 2025 (BSS) - Police arrested three listed accused on the charges of attacking and blasting cocktails on the anti-discrimination student movement here on August 5, 2024. 

The arrestees are Tanvir Hassan Sajib, 32, son of late Abul Khayer, and Naimul Islam, 30, son of late Abu Taher both are residents of the Rajarhata area and Arkan Uddin Bappy, 49, son of late Ansar Uddin Anfor resident of Kumarpara area in the city.
 
According to Sabina Yeasmin, Additional Deputy Commissioner (Media) at Rajshahi Metropolitan Police (RMP), the arrested persons were involved in Awami League and banned Chhatra League politics.

She also told BSS that, they were desperately engaged in attacking and blasting cocktails at the students' movement in the Alupatty area. 

On a tip-off, a detective branch team of RMP conducted drives and arrested them from their respective houses last night.
