Fugitive accused held in Munshiganj

MUNSHIGANJ, April 10, 2025 (BSS)- Rapid Action Battalion arrested a fugitive
accused who was fleeing a case lodged over the killing of
Shahid Abdul Kaiyum, 25, during the anti-discrimination student movement in
Sirajdikhan upazila of the district on Wednesday.

The arrested was identified as Md. Amir Hossen, 40, son of late Ahed Ali, a
resident of Bederpara Boktapur area under Savar Police Station.

He was apprehended at 3 pm while a team of the RAB-10 conducted a raid in the
land office area under Sirajdikhan upazila, an official release of RAB-10
said here today.

On August 5 last year, university student Abdul Kaiyum got shot on the Dhaka-
Aricha Highway during an anti-discrimination student movement, the release
added.
 
Later, he was taken to Enam Medical College Hospital, where the attending
doctors declared him dead.

Following the incident, victim's mother filed a case with Savar Model Police
Station.

"The accused has been handed over to Savar Model Police Station," RAB sources
said.
