HABIGANJ, April 11, 2025 (BSS) - A woman was killed and 10 others were injured when a bus overturned in Bahubal upazila here last night.

The deceased was identified as Lutfa Begum, 55, a resident of Damti village under Debidwar upazila in Cumilla district.

Officer-in-Charge of Bahubal Model Police Station Zahidul Islam said the accident occurred around 11 pm on Thursday when a Narayanganj-bound bus lost control of its steering and overturned on the road in the Mukhkandi area along the Dhaka-Sylhet highway, leaving 12 people critically injured.

With the help of police and firefighting units, the injured were taken to Bahubal Upazila Health Complex and Habiganj Sadar Hospital.

The duty doctors declared Lutfa Begum dead after she was taken to Bahubal Upazila Health Complex.
