RAJSHAHI, April 11, 2025 (BSS) - After days of sweltering heat and humid conditions, a brief spell of rain accompanied by cool winds brought much-needed relief to the people of Rajshahi on Thursday night.

Rahidul Islam, in-charge of the Rajshahi Meteorological Office, told BSS that five millimeters of rainfall were recorded between 9:00 pm and 10:30 pm.

"Clouds are still hovering, and there is a possibility of light drizzles in parts of Rajshahi and Chapainawabganj," he added.

The highest temperature on Thursday was 35 degrees Celsius, while the lowest was 23.5 degrees Celsius.

Umme Salma, deputy director of the Department of Agricultural Extension (DAE), told BSS that though rainfall was light, it would moderately help the ongoing fruit development of mango and litchi.

"It will also benefit paddy cultivation," she added.
