Two killed in Bogura road accident

BOGURA, April 11, 2025 (BSS) - Two people, including a van driver, were killed when a passenger bus collided with the van on the Bogura-Naogaon highway near Narhatta Vepra in Kahaloo upazila around 9am today.

The victims were identified as Nur Alam, 50, of Shikor village, and Mofazzal Hossen, 36, of Paikor Panjapara village-both from Kahaloo upazila.

According to police, the van, driven by Nur Alam, experienced a mechanical failure while transporting Mofazzal from Bibirpukur to his home. A bus from Naogaon then rammed into the disabled van, dragging it nearly a kilometer. 

Nur Alam died on the spot.

Mofazzal was found critically injured near Kaliyar Pukur, with one of his hands severed. 

Fire service personnel rescued him and took him to Shaheed Ziaur Rahman Medical College Hospital, where doctor on-duty pronounced him dead about an hour later.

Kahaloo Police Station officer-in-charge Abdul Hannan said the bodies were handed over to their families.
