NARAYANGANJ, April 11, 2025 (BSS) - Police recovered bodies of three individuals - two women and a child - from the Mijmiji Paschimpara area of Siddhirganj here today.

Local residents discovered the bodies, which were packed and bore signs of severe mutilation, near a pond around 2:00pm and immediately informed the police.

Authorities have since identified the deceased as Shopna Akter (35), Lamia Akter (22), and Lamia's 3-year-old son, Habib. All three were reportedly members of the same family and daughters of late Samad.

Grieving family members, including Shirin Begum, aunt of Lamia Akter, accused Lamia's husband, Yasin, of carrying out the brutal killings.

"They wiped out my sister's entire family," said Shirin Begum in tears, demanding justice.

Acting officer-in-charge of Siddhirganj Police Station Mohammad Shahinur Alam confirmed the recovery of the bodies and the detention of Yasin for questioning.

"He is known in the area as a drug trader, and preliminary evidence suggests that the murders may be linked to a domestic dispute," he said.

Police said a detailed investigation is underway.
