Journalist Monirul Huda passes away

KHULNA, April 11, 2025 (BSS) – Former president of Khulna Press Club Monirul Huda passed away this morning due to old-age complications at a hospital in the capital.

Huda, a former president of Bangladesh Tax Lawyers Association and senior member of Rotary Club, has been ill for long and was put on life-support a few days back. He was 88, family sources said.

Monirul Huda left behind his three daughters, one son, relatives and well-wishers to mourn his death.
 
Born in November 27 in 1937 in Bagerhat, Huda took part in the Language Movement in 1952. 

Huda, also a former vice-chairman of Khulna Pourosova, started his career in journalism through joining the Daily Pakistan in 1964. He served as a special correspondent in theDainik Bangla till 1997.

In 1959, Monirul Huda started practicing as an Income-Tax lawyer and was elected president of Bangladesh Tax Lawyers Association in 2016-19. 

Huda was the Chief Editor of a Khulna daily ‘Dainik Janmobhumi’ till his last breath. His namaz-e-Janaza was held at Dhanmondi Taqwa Mosque after Jumma prayer.
