CHUADANGA, April 12, 2025 (BSS) - The Department of Consumer Rights
Protection fined a factory Taka 50,000 for manufacturing illegal contravene
drinks in Jibannagar upazila of the district today.

A team of the department conducted a raid at Ratna Drinks Factory in Kasipur
Mathpara area of the upazila this afternoon and recovered around 4,500 pieces
of illegal contravene drinks and fined Taka 50,000, said Assistant Director
of the department Mohammad Mamunul Hasan.

The factory has been manufacturing the drinks for three years, he said.

Later, the substandard drinks were destroyed.

District Food Safety Officer Sajeeb Pal, student representative Mushfiqur
Rahim, District Sanitary Inspector Md. Golam Faruk and CAB representative
Rafiqul Islam were present, among others, during the drive.
