2 killed in truck-bus collision in Brahmanbaria

BRAHMANBARIA, April 12, 2025 (BSS) - Two people were killed as a bus collided head on with a truck in Kuti area on the Cumilla-Sylhet highway in Kasba upazila in the district today. 

The deceased were Akash, of Charchartala village in Ashuganj upazila of the district, and Amir Hossain, 34, of Muradnagar upazila of Cumilla. 

Sarail's Khatihat Highway Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Md. Mamun Rahman confirmed the matter.

He said the incident took place when a Siam Paribahan bus collided head-on with a coal-laden truck coming from the opposite direction, leaving Amir dead and several others injured on the spot.

Of the injured, the truck driver Akash succumbed to his injuries on the way to Dhaka for better treatment, he added.

Police seized both the vehicles, the OC said.
