RANGAMATI, April 13, 2025 (BSS) - A total of 3,048 Bangladesh Ansar and Village Defence Party (VDP) members received gift packages here in the district today to celebrate Baisabi Utsab, the biggest traditional festival in the hill tracts.

Rangamati Ghagra Ansar Battalion director Bikash Chandra Das distributed the gift packages among the recipients at district commandant's office on behalf of Bangladesh Ansar and VDP director general.

Rangamati district commandant Md. Anwar Hossain presided over the function.

Each package included food items such as aromatic rice, puffed rice, flattened rice, powdered milk, semolina, noodles, soybean oil, phirni mix, and sugar.

Members from ten upazilas received the gifts: 940 in Longadu, 614 in Barkal, 337 in Kaukhali, 321 in Baghaichhari, 307 in Naniarchar, 195 in Bilaichhari, 190 in Rajasthali, 107 in Sadar, 19 in Jurachhari, and 18 in Kaptai.
