CUMILLA, April 13, 2025 (BSS) - Joint forces have arrested a man with illegal
air gun and country-made weapons from Jalgaon village of Belghar Dakshin
union under Lalmai upazila of the district.

The arrested was Salauddin Sumon, 45, son of Shamsul Haque Chairman, advisor
of Lalmai upazila Awami League.

On a tip-off, a team of the joint force conducted a drive yesterday in the
area around 1 pm and arrested Sumon from his house, said Md. Shah Alam,
officer-in-charge (oc) of Lalmai Police Station this noon.

During the drive the team also seized an air gun without a license, 27
bullets of the gun, five country-made weapons and a motorcycle (without valid
documents) from his possession.

The joint forces arrested Sumon on charges of various allegations against
him, the OC said.

A case was filed in this connection, he added.
