JHENAIDAH, April 13, 2025 (BSS) - A van driver was killed in a road accident at Elangi village in Kotchandpur upazila of the district this morning.

The deceased was Chaitanya Pal, 40, son of Kartik Pal, a resident of Fazilpur village of the upazila.

The accident took place on the Kaliganj-Jibannagar road around 9 am when a bus coming from the opposite direction hit a van, leaving its driver dead on the spot, said Kabir Hossain Matubbar, Officer-in-Charge of Kotchandpur Police Station.

Police recovered the body and sent it to Jhenaidah Sadar Hospital morgue for an autopsy.
