NOAKHALI, April 14 (BSS0 - An auto-rickshaw driver was killed as a truck hit his vehicle near Sudharam Police Station area in Sadar upazila here this morning.

The deceased was identified as Rezaul Karim, 45, son of Golam Hossain, a resident of Ward N0-9 at Aujbalia union of the upazila.

The accident occurred around 11.15am on the Maijdi-Chowmuhani road when a truck coming from opposite direction hit a CNG-run auto-rickshaw, leaving its driver Rezaul injured critically, said M Kamrul Islam, Officer-in-Charge of Sudharam Police Station.

Razaul was taken to 250-bed Noakhali General Hospital where the on-duty doctor declared him dead.

After the incident police arrested truck driver M Rubel, 32, son of Rafizul Talukder of Pet Monika village in Bhola district and seized the truck.
