Human trafficker arrested in Natore

NATORE, April 14, 2025 (BSS) - A joint team of the Bangladesh Army and police arrested a suspected human trafficker during a raid in Lalpur upazila here in the district this morning.

The arrestee has been identified as Rafiqul Islam, a resident of Shibpur Khan village under Gopalpur union in the upazila.

During the raid, law enforcement officials recovered five fake diplomatic passports, eleven counterfeit green passports, various local and foreign identity cards, four credit cards, three unregistered passport-size photographs, and several documents related to passport forgery from his possession.

They also found four yaba tablets at the scene.

Rafiqul Islam and the seized items were handed over to Lalpur Police Station, said Lieutenant Colonel Muktadir Rahman, captain of the Natore district army camp.

Lalpur Police Station officer-in-charge said a case has been filed against the suspect, and he was sent to jail following a court order.
