Nilphamari teen rescued, kidnapper arrested in Dhaka

RANGPUR, April 14, 2025 (BSS) - The Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) rescued a kidnapped teenage girl of Nilphamari and arrested her abductor during a joint operation in Dhaka's Madhya Azampur Munshi Market area on Sunday evening.

The accused, Md Shuvo Islam (21), son of Md Hasnur Rahman of Paschim Balagram village in Jaldhaka upazila, allegedly kidnapped the girl from nearby Purbo Balagram on March 25.

Following a case filed by the victim's father with Jaldhaka Police Station, the RAB-13 in coordination with RAB-1 tracked down the suspect in the capital and conducted the raid.

Both the arrested and the rescued girl have been handed over to Jaldhaka Police Station for further legal steps, the RAB said in a press release today.
