Three drug peddlers held in Savar

SAVAR, April 15, 2025 (BSS) - Savar Model Police Station members arrested three drug peddlers during two separate anti-drug operations last night.

In the first raid, Sumon, 25, son of Abul Hawlader from Katakhali village in Patuakhali's Dashmina upazila, was detained in the Banktown area along the Dhaka-Aricha highway.

On information, police searched a passenger bus and arrested Sumon as he attempted to flee. Officers recovered 4,000 Yaba tablets and about 3 kilograms of hemp from his possession.

In a separate operation in Borodeshi village of Aminbazar, police arrested Sultan Kazi, 52, and Monira Khatun. They were found with 2.7 kilograms of hemp.

Officer-in-charge Jewel Mia confirmed that two separate cases have been filed and the suspects were sent to court this afternoon.
