Illegal firearms seized from Juba League leader's home in Cumilla

CUMILLA, April 15, 2025 (BSS) - A joint operation by the Bangladesh Army, RAB, and police recovered illegal firearms and weapons from the home of a local Juba League leader in the Araiora area of Cumilla Sadar upazila this morning.

The suspect, Omar Faruk Munna, president of the Mainamati union unit of Juba League, was not at home during the raid. 

Law enforcers seized a Czechoslovakian rifle, a foreign shotgun, and a sharp knife from his residence.

Munna is allegedly involved in criminal activities for years.

However, the recovered weapons were handed over to the Cumilla Kotwali Model Police Station.

Officer-in-Charge Mohinul Islam said a case will be filed against the suspect.
