Govt distributes 70 cows among small ethnic groups in Dinajpur

DINAJPUR, May 7, 2025 (BSS) – The government today distributed heifer calves among 70 small ethnic group people to improve the socio-economic and living standards of the backward people living in the plain land of Phulbari upazila.

Upazila Nirbahi officer (UNO) M Ishaq Ali distributed the cows among them at a function held on the premises of the upazila Animal Resources Office and Veterinary Hospital. 

UNO Ishaq Ali said that the current interim government distributed the cows to make the underprivileged small ethnic groups self-reliant.

Besides, 20 kg of cow feed was also distributed to each of them along with the cows. 

The cows were distributed to 70 beneficiary families in seven unions of Phulbari upazila.

Major Sheikh Arman Ibne Idris, Army Officer in-charge of Phulbari upazila, Animal Resources Officer Dr. Md. Sarwar Hasan, Veterinary Surgeon Dr. Sajeeb Hawlader, Officer-in-Charge of Phulbari Police Station Inspector AKM Khandaker Muhibbul, Upazila BNP President Md. Nabiul Islam, Municipal BNP President Abul Bashar and others were present at the distribution function.
