3 brokers jailed, fined in ACC drive in Jashore

JASHORE, May 7, 2025 (BSS)-The officials of the Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) in a drive today detained three persons from local BRTA office for their alleged involvement in monetary negotiation with the service seekers.   

Later, ACC officials, through a mobile court fined two people and awarded jail to another.
ACC Assistant Director (AD) Md Al Amin said that the innocent people have often been harassing by the brokers at local BRTA office and  today’s drive was prompted  following an instruction from the ACC headquarter.      

The AD said they detained three alleged brokers-Kamal Hossain, Aminur Kabir and Tarek Maruf from the BRTA office. Later, Executive Magistrate Sumaiya Jahan fined Kamal Hossain and Aminur Kabir TK 1000 each and another Tarek Maruf TK 1000 and also sentenced him to one-day jail.  
Such type of drive would continue, AD added.
