Petrol pump, tank lorry owners call off protest

SIRAJGANJ, May 25, 2025 (BSS) - Petrol Pump Owners and Tank Lorry Owners Oikko Parishad have put an end to their protest following an assurance from the Bangladesh Petroleum Corporation (BPC).

As part of their protest, Bangladesh Petrol Pump and Tank Lorry Owners Oikko Parishad enforced an eight-hour strike at 6am today to press home their 10-point demand.

North Bengal Tank Lorry Workers Union president Azizur Rahman said, "After observing the eight-hour strike called by the Bangladesh Petrol Pump and Tanker Lorry Owners' Oikko Parishad, the BPC has assured us of accepting the demands. As a result, no further programmes have been announced."

Meanwhile, fuel oil extraction and supply have resumed from 2 pm from Baghabari Oil Depot while fuel oil marketing has resumed from all petrol pumps in the district.
