MADARIPUR, June 13, 2025 (BSS) - A youth was killed today after being electrocuted in Shibchar upazila of the district.

The deceased was identified as Md Rajib, 22, son of Delwar Shikder of Abed Ali Munshi Kandi area under Kutubpur Union in the upazila.

Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Shibchar Police Station Md Ratan Sheikh said Rajib was working to demolish an old house at his maternal grandfather Mannan Shikder's neighbouring residence when he came in contact with a live electric wire.

He was later rescued in critical condition and taken to Shibchar Upazila Health Complex, where doctors declared him dead.
