BANDARBAN, Aug 21, 2025, (BSS) - A woman was killed and five others were injured in a road accident in meraipara area of Taracha union under Rowangchhari upazila of the district yesterday evening.

The deceased was Hlayinu Marma, 45, wife of Chathowaimong Marma, a resident of Headmanpara of the upazila. 

The accident took place around 5.30 pm on a hill slope when a local vehicle (Chandergari) overturned as its driver lost control of the vehicle, leaving one passenger dead on the spot and five others injured, said Unumong Marma, chairman of Taracha Union Parishad.

The injured were taken to Bandarban Sadar Hospital.

Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Rowangchhari Police Station Shuvro Mukul confirmed the matter.
