BGB detains 9 persons while entering India illegally

JHENAIDAH, Aug 21, 2025 (BSS) - Members of the Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) arrested nine individuals, including four women and two children, while attempting to illegally enter India through the Maheshpur border in the district.

In a press release, Assistant Director of BGB-58 Munshi Imdadur Rahman said a special patrol team, led by Habildar Sahor Ali, conducted a raid at Kusumpur border outpost and arrested Rashed Mia, 20, Probas, 45, Prosenjit, 26, along with four women and two children.

Officer-in-Charge Sazzadur Rahman said that the detained women and children were sent to Jashore Justice and Daycare Centre and legal measures were taken against three others.

Another BGB team detained six people, including two women and two children, from Loraighat border outpost under Moheshpur upazila.
