KHULNA, Aug 21, 2025 (BSS) - Police arrested Bayezid Zannat Sinha, organizing secretary of the banned Chhatra League Khulna district unit, from Barisal city on Wednesday evening.
Sinha, son of Ziaul Zannat Bablu, hails from the Sonadanga area in Khulna city.
Acting on a tip-off, a team of the Detective Branch (DB) of Khulna Metropolitan Police (KMP) conducted a drive in Barisal city and arrested Sinha around 7:00 pm, confirmed Taymur Islam, Officer-in-Charge (OC) of DB, KMP.
The OC said Sinha was arrested through mobile phone tracking in connection with a case filed with Khulna Sadar Police Station on March 18 this year. He had been on the run since August 5 last year.
He will be produced before a court with a prayer for remand, the OC added.
