Call to harness youth capacity for an inclusive future

KHULNA, June 18, 2025 (BSS) - Speakers at a seminar today said that youth engagement is crucial for building an equitable Bangladesh, and the government can shape a new nation by harnessing the power of youth.

They stressed the importance of the rule of law and sustainable development, calling upon the government to take proactive steps.

They made these observations at a seminar titled "Bangladesh of Tomorrow in the Thoughts of Youth", held at the Khulna Regional Information Office (PID) in the city.

Speaking as the chief guest, Professor Md. Lutfar Rahman Pradhan, Principal of Azam Khan Government Commerce College, said that utilizing the skills, creativity, and hardworking mindset of the youth is essential for advancing the country.

"Building a developed, prosperous, and modern Bangladesh depends on the youth-it has been our long-cherished dream," he said.

"After the July Movement, the country we gained must now be rebuilt by the young generation. They must equip themselves with the necessary skills to match the times," he added.

He further noted that one-third of Bangladesh's population is youth, and this demographic dividend must not be wasted if the nation is to reach new heights of progress.

Deputy Principal Information Officer of the Khulna Regional Information Office ASM Kabir presided over the seminar, while Assistant Director of the Divisional Department of Social Services Md. Mehedi Al Masud presented the keynote paper.

Assistant Information Officer at the Regional Information Office Md. Atikur Rahman Mufti also participated in the event as a discussant.
A total of 40 college students, teachers, PID officers, among others, participated in the seminar.

Participating students expressed a strong commitment to building a corruption-free and merit-based developed Bangladesh.
