Two criminals arrested with foreign rifles in Raojan

CHATTOGRAM, June 22, 2025 (BSS) - Rapid Action Battalion (RAB)-7 today 
arrested two armed terrorists from the Gahira Bazar area of Raozan Thana in 
the district.
 
During the operation, two 0.22 caliber rifles with wooden butts, two 
magazines and six live cartridges were recovered from their possessions. 
 
A press release from RAB-7 confirmed this information and said that they were 
arrested around 09.30 pm on Saturday.
 
The arrested are Md. Shakhawat Hossain, 30, from Sultanpur village and Md. 
Naeem Uddin, 24,from Noazishpur village in the same upazila. 
 
RAB-7 commander Lt. Col. Md. Hafizur Rahman mentioned that a RAB operation 
team reached the Gahira Bazar area of the Chattogram-Rangamati highway around 
9:30 pm on Saturday.
 
Based on information the elite force discovered that some criminals were 
hiding with firearms for the purpose of robbery. 
 
However, some members attempted to flee upon sensing the presence of RAB, but 
Md. Shakhawat Hossain and Md. Naeem Uddin were arrested. 
 
He further added that during initial interrogation the arrested admitted that 
the recovered weapons and ammunition were used for robbery, snatching and 
extortion on the Chattogram-Rangamati highway under Raozan police station. 

RAB said they have been handed over to Raozan police station for further 
legal action.
