Three Rohingya held with yaba tablets in Bandarban

BANDARBAN, June 23, 2025 (BSS) - Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) in a drive 
arrested three Rohingya youths with 34,000 pieces of yaba tablets from 
Rejupara area under Naikhongchhari upazila of the district last night.

The arrested are Md. Mahmudul Hasan, 23, Md. Hakim, 18, and Md. Shafi Alam, 
30, of Block-D area under FDMN Camp-01 in Ukhiya upazila of Cox's Bazar 
district.

On a tip-off, a team of the BGB-34 conducted a drive in the area and arrested 
them with the contraband yaba tablets, according to a press release of the 
BGB-34 Battalion.

Commander of BGB-34 Battalion Lieutenant Colonel SM Khairul Alam (PSC) said 
BGB is working relentlessly to protect the future generation of the country 
from the scourge of drugs.

A case was filed with the concerned police station in this connection, he 
added.
