Coconut saplings distributed among 300 farmers in Faridpur

FARIDPUR, June 23, 2025 (BSS) - Coconut saplings were distributed among 300 
farmers today to increase its production in the district under the 
agricultural incentive programme.

At the initiative of the Sadar Upazila Administration and Agricultural 
Extension Department, 1,500 coconut saplings of improved varieties were 
distributed among 300 farmers at the Upazila Parishad premises this morning.

Upazila Nirbahi Officer Israt Jahan inaugurated the distribution programme as 
the chief guest with Upazila Agriculture Officer Krishibid Anwar Hossain in 
the chair.

Agriculture officer Md. Masud Rana, assistant agriculture al officer Sheikh 
Aminul Islam, deputy assistant plant protection officer Md. Abdur Rob and 
deputy assistant agriculture officer Md. Sirajul Islam were present, among 
others.

Krishibid Anwar Hossain said under the agricultural incentive programme 
improved varieties of coconut saplings have been distributed free of cost 
among 300 farmers of Sadar upazila to increase the cultivation and production 
of coconut in the Kharip-2 season.
