Smuggled goods worth Tk 3.5cr seized in Sylhet

SYLHET, June 24, 2025 (BSS) - A joint force of Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) 
and Bangladesh Army seized smuggled goods worth about Taka 3.5 crore from 
Haripur area under upazila of the district today.

Sylhet BGB Battalion Commander Lieutenant Colonel Md. Nazmul Haque confirmed 
this saying: "A large quantity of Indian cosmetics was seized in a joint 
drive from Haripur area of Jaintapur upazila this morning."

These cosmetics were being loaded into trucks, covered with sand. The 
estimated value of the seized goods is Taka 3.5 crore, he added.

The BGB commander also said that the BGB's operational activities and 
intelligence activities are continuing to maintain security at the border 
areas and prevent smuggling.
