Minor boy killed in Sherpur road accident

SHERPUR, July 7, 2025 (BSS) - A minor boy was killed and five others were critically injured in a collision between a bus and a CNG-powered auto-rickshaw in Nakla upazila of the district today.

The deceased was identified as Shuvrajit Dutta, 9, son of Prosenjit Dutta and Tandra Dutta of Sahapara village under Phulpur upazila.

Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Nakla Police Station Habibur Rahman said a CNG-run auto-rickshaw carrying passengers was heading towards Nakla upazila.

When the vehicle reached the Paiska Bypass area, it collided with a passenger bus coming from Sherpur around 1pm. In the collision, Shuvrajit, who was in his mother's lap, died on the spot.

The boy's parents, the driver, and two other auto-rickshaw passengers were critically injured in the collision.
