Mamun praises his boys performance in friendly-match

DHAKA, Aug 19, 2025 (BSS)- Bangladesh U-23 football team assistant coach 
Hasan Al Mamun expressed his content over the boys performance against 
Bahrain after the Monday's first close door friendly-match against Bahrain U-
23 football team. 

Mamun through a video message today (Tuesday) said the boys played the first 
match here in Bahrain, and this match gave the opportunity to see the entire 
condition of the team. That is why all of the boys were given a chance to 
play in the preparation match. Overall, it was a good friendly-match and even 
as a warm-up, the boys gave their best effort in the preparation match.
 
Forward Mirazul Islam said: "Alhamdulillah, everyone played very well ... We 
made some mistakes during the match, the coach will correct those mistakes 
and we'll prepare accordingly for the next match on August 22." 

"The coach told us that we played a very good preparation match ...We have 
another match to play and we have a lot to learn from that match ... It is 
also a good preparation for us ahead of the Vietnam qualifiers," he added.
 
Meanwhile, the Bangladesh U-23 football team scheduled to go through a light 
recovery programme today, with gym and swimming sessions at their hotel but 
no field training has been scheduled.

Bangladesh have been drawn in Group C of the qualifiers alongside hosts 
Vietnam, Yemen, and Singapore. 

The three group matches will be played on September 3, 6 and 9. From the 11 
groups, only the winners and four best runners-up will reach the finals, set 
for next year.
