DHAKA, Nov 15, 2025 (BSS)-The Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) in a statement today revealed that they haven't found any irregularities in the selection process of the Under-19 Women's Cricket Team.
"The Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) wishes to address recent complaints forwarded by NSC vide letter dated 17 September 2025 relating to the selection process of the Under-19 Women's Cricket Team and other issues raised in connection with women's cricket," the BCB said in a press release.
"Based on this review, the BCB can confirm that no irregularities were found in the selection process of the Under-19 Women's Cricket Team."
The statement said that the BCB confirms that the said NSC letter dated 17 September 2025 was received at a time when the Board was fully engaged in the formation of the General Council and the election of the new Board of Directors. During this period, most BCB departments were occupied with essential election-related duties, limiting their scope to urgent day-to-day operational activities.
"Following the completion of the General Council formation, the election of Board of Directors and the subsequent allocation of responsibilities to the newly appointed Committee Chairmen, the relevant committee and department were consulted and all available records were thoroughly reviewed," the release said.
The release also referenced a letter dated 8 September 2025 submitted by Ria Akhter Shikha to the Executive Director of the National Sports Council (NSC).
The BCB said the issues raised in the letter placed before the five-member Inquiry Committee constituted to examine the issues raised by former Bangladesh Women's Team Captain Jahanara Alam in a recent social-media interview.
"The BCB reiterates its commitment to transparency, fairness and accountability. The Board will take all necessary and appropriate actions once the Inquiry Committee submits its findings and recommendations," the release concluded.
