TANGAIL, Nov 15, 2025 (BSS) - BNP Publicity Secretary and Tangail-5 (Sadar) constituency candidate Sultan Salauddin Tuku today said BNP Acting Chairman Tarique Rahman has urged party leaders and activists to remain close to the people and actively engage with them.
"A conspiracy is being hatched regarding the national elections, but it will not succeed,' he said.
He made the remarks while speaking at a view-exchange meeting in support of the party symbol 'Sheaf of Paddy' at Gol Chottor of Mahmudnagar Union under Sadar Upazila.
"With your prayers, and if the Almighty wills, I will work for the development of this greater char region once elected," Tuku said.
"My first priority will be to construct a bridge over the long-awaited Dhaleshwari River so that char dwellers no longer face hardship. At the same time, I will build an embankment along the river to protect residents from erosion," he added.
Tuku further promised, "I will develop Tangail Sadar into a model town free from crime and corruption and build a modern, terror-free Tangail, Inshallah."
He also praised BNP Chairperson Begum Khaleda Zia, saying, "Our national leader has fought relentlessly, endured imprisonment, yet never bowed to injustice. That is why she is regarded as an uncompromising leader."
The meeting, organized by Mahmudnagar Union BNP, was presided over by Union BNP President Engineer Abdur Rashid.
Former District BNP Member Secretary Mahmudul Haque Sanu, Sadar Upazila BNP President Azgar Ali, Senior Joint Secretary Azim Uddin Biplob, District Chhatra Dal Convener Durjoy Hor Shuvo, Mahmudnagar BNP General Secretary Mojibur Rahman, and former District Jubo Mahila BNP General Secretary Advocate Momtaz Karim, among others, also spoke.
At the end of the event, free spray machines were distributed among local farmers.
