JHENAIDAH, July 8, 2025 (BSS) - A motorcyclist was killed and another injured when a pickup van hit their motorbike in Baluhar area under Kotchandpur upazila of the district today.
The deceased was Shafiqul Islam, 19, a resident of Azampur village in Maheshpur upazila of the district.
The accident took place around 1:30 pm near Dakattala Bridge when a pickup van hit a motorcycle from opposite direction, leaving its rider Shafiqul dead on the spot and its pillion injured, said Kabir Hossain Matubbar, Officer-in-Charge of Kotchandpur Police Station.
Injured Habib was taken to Kotchandpur Upazila Health Complex where the on-duty doctors referred him to Jashore General Hospital.
