Another CU student's body recovered in Cox's Bazar

COX'S BAZAR, July 09, 2025 (BSS) - Body of another Chattogram University (CU) student, who went missing while bathing in the sea at Himchari Beach area of Cox's Bazar along with two friends, was recovered this morning after 26 hours.

The deceased was identified as Asif Ahmed, son of Rafiqul Islam, a resident of Naruli Dakshin in Bogura Sadar upazila. He was a first-year student in Development Studies Department at CU.

The body of Asif was recovered from Nazirartek sea beach area in Cox's Bazar around 9 am after 26 hours of his missing, police said.

Local fishermen spotted the body floating on the sea near the beach and informed police. Later, members of Fire Service, Tourist Police, Beach Workers and Sea Safe Life Guards recovered the body. 

The body was sent to Cox's Bazar Sadar Hospital. 

Earlier, KM Sadman Rahman Sabab, a first-year student at the Department of Development Studies, found dead.

On Tuesday, a student of Chittagong University (CU) drowned and two others went missing while taking a bath in the sea at the Himchari Beach area of Cox's Bazar.

Another student is still missing.
