Construction of 'July Shaheed Smritistambha' inaugurated in C'nawabganj

CHAPAINAWABGANJ, July 15, 2025 (BSS) - The construction of the 'July Shaheed Smritistambha' (July Martyr Memorial) began on Monday afternoon in the Pathanpara Food Office area of Chapainawabganj district.

Deputy Commissioner Md. Abdus Samad formally inaugurated the project, which aims to honor the martyrs of the July uprising. 

The memorial will be built under the supervision of the Public Works Department (PWD) at an estimated cost of Tk 14 lakh.

Superintendent of Police Rezaul Karim, Deputy Director of the Local Government Department Ujjwal Kumar Ghosh, Chief Executive Officer of the District Council Afaz Uddin, Civil Surgeon Dr. AKM Shahab Uddin, Additional Deputy Commissioner (General) Md. Naqib Hasan Tarafdar, Additional District Magistrate Md. Anisur Rahman, Additional Deputy Commissioner (Education and ICT) Salma Akhter, Executive Engineer of the Roads and Highways Department Md. Nahinur Rahman, Deputy Director of the District Agricultural Extension Department Md. Yasin Hossain and Ashadul Islam, father of July martyr Tariq Hossain, among others, were present.
