BGB provides free treatments to 1,500 patients in Feni

FENI, July 15, 2025 (BSS) - Bangladesh Border Guard (BGB-4) organised a free medical camp today for flood-affected people of Parshuram and Fulgazi upazilas of the district for providing treatments to them.

Free medical treatment and necessary medicines were provided to 1,500 local patients of the flood affected areas from the medical camp organised on the premises of Alhaj Master Nurul Haque Joypur Government Primary School in Fulgazi upazila.

BGB Cumilla Sector Commander Colonel Md. Rezaul Kabir inaugurated the camp as the chief guest. 

Under the supervision of BGB-4 Commander Lieutenant Colonel Mohammad Mosharraf Hossain, medical services were provided by Cumilla Sector Medical Officer Major Fateha Nazneen, Medicine Specialist Feni Battalion Assistant Director Mohammad Nazrul Islam Khan and Medical Officer Dr. Saad Bin Islam.

Colonel Rezaul Kabir said after the floods, different types of water-borne diseases have been reported in Parshuram and Fulgazi upazilas. 

Therefore, initiatives have been taken to provide medical services to the common people in the affected areas, he said, adding: "Today, under the instructions of the BGB Director General, we have provided medical services and medicines to 1500 people." 

The BGB official remarked that this force has already distributed relief, dry food, and cooked food to the Fulgazi and Parshuram upazilas. BGB will continue to extend its support to helpless families in the future, he added.
