NATORE, July 16, 2025 (BSS) - The construction of the 'July Shaheed Smritistambha' (July Martyr Memorial) began today near Government Public Library of the district.

Deputy Commissioner Asma Shaheen formally inaugurated the project around 10 am, which aims to honor the martyrs of the July uprising.

Superintendent of Police Mohammad Amjad Hossain, Executive Engineer of the Public Works Department District Office Amit Kumar Deb and others were present at the inauguration ceremony.

The slogan of the Mass Uprising will be engraved on the main structure of the 18-foot-high and six-foot-diameter steel structure. The names of the eight martyrs of the district who died in the mass uprising will be inscribed on the steel cover on the concrete altar.
