Lightning strike kills minor boy in C'nawabganj

CHAPAINAWABGANJ, July 20, 2025 (BSS) - A minor boy was killed in lightning strike in front of Chauka Kharial Government Primary School in Shibganj upazila of the district this morning.

The deceased was Shri Rohit Singh, 6, son of Shri Raju Singh, a resident of Chauka Panditpara village under Manakosa union of the upazila.

Head teacher of Chauka Kharial Government Primary School Mahfuzur Rahman said Rohit Singh went out of the classroom with the permission of the class teacher and was struck by lightning under a mango tree in front of the 
school.

The school teachers and locals rescued him and admitted to Shibganj Upazila Health Complex where the on-duty doctor declared him dead.
