Huge drugs, smuggled goods seized in Cumilla

CUMILLA, July 20, 2025 (BSS) - Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) in separate drives has seized a huge quantity of drugs and Indian smuggled goods worth Taka 21.20 lakh from different frontier areas of the district.

On a tip-off, BGB teams from Shiberbazar and Amangonda BOP under Cumilla BGB-10 Battalion conducted separate drives in the border areas of Chauddagram upazila yesterday and seized 202 kg of ganja, 1,555 bottles of phensedyl, 72 bottles of foreign liquor, 202 bottles of Scoff syrup, 48 bottles of beer, 500 pieces of skin sign cream and 20,776 pieces of Indian illegal fireworks, said Lt. Col. Mir Ali Ejaz, Commander of Cumilla BGB-10 Battalion. 

Lieutenant Colonel Mir Ali Ejaz said BGB's intelligence activities and operational activities have been strengthened at the border to prevent smuggling. The seized goods will be handed over to the concerned customs authorities.
